MISSION
Game Changers Initiative (GCI) was founded to address critical gaps facing today’s youth. In the wake of COVID-19, many young people continue to experience the lingering effects of learning loss, leaving them disengaged and uncertain about their futures. Too often, disadvantaged youth feel confined to limited career paths in retail, security, or trade skills. It's not to say that these careers are inherently bad, but we aim to maximize young people's access to alternative opportunities that align with their passions.
For many of these young people, gaming is a constant—a passion that captivates their interest but often feels out of reach as a viable career or academic pursuit. That’s where Game Changers Initiative comes in. We bridge the gap by equipping youth with the resources, education, and access to opportunities in the Gaming and Esports industries, helping them turn their passion into something tangible and transformative.
Our founder, Hatim Mansori, grew up immersed in gaming, starting as early as age 3. While attending Morehouse College, he pioneered HBCU collegiate Esports, founding and fostering programs such as Maroon Tiger Gaming (MTG) in 2019. Morehouse's Maroon Tiger Gaming now boasts a complete state-of-the-art gaming hub and they consistently win thousands of dollars in scholarships and prize money earned by passionate gamers.
Hatim’s experiences shaped his love for gaming and inspired him to establish Game Changers Initiative. Today, GCI builds on that foundation to empower young people to follow their dreams, harness their passion, and explore meaningful pathways in gaming and beyond.
